What is De La Tierra?

'De la Tierra' is a Spanish phrase which means 'of the earth'.  I chose to name my business this after travelling throughout Latin America and absorbing their rural culture.  I strive to grow healthy plants from a well tended soil.  Everything I produce is indeed de la tierra... I invite you to experience for yourself how good fresh, local and chemical free food and flowers can be!

The short story...
Market farmer Jackie Miller Coldsmith is a graduate of Hood College with a degree in Environmental Science.  After participating in an internship in 2002 at Merck Forest and Farmland Center in Rupert, VT, she decided to make a go at it on her father's land in Taneytown, MD.  She formed her business in 2003 and has been farming ever since.  She lives with her husband Travis and daughter Stella.
