Seven new chickens arrived at DLT in mid July. Four are Americanas, which will lay blue-green eggs. One of the highlights is a Poland hen, with a fancy hat of black and white feathers atop her head. These girls won't start laying until October, but it's great to have chickens back on the farm again.

After returning from a week's vacation, the gardens are dry. It's time to get out there and water a bit. Hoping for cooler and wetter weather in the coming weeks to help the fall crops along.

After 4 inches of rain on Saturday and more falling today, the fall greens, cabbage and broccoli should get off to a good start. I am looking forward to greens, greens, greens this fall.
Tomatoes are still a'plenty...
